About the Role

BMD is in a significant growth phase with a strong pipeline of projects in hand and as a result, we are looking for an Asphalt Supervisor to oversee a package of works as part of the Tonkin Highway Extension Alliance team. 

Offered as a full time and permanent position, you will be responsible for:

• Work closely with the Superintendent you will supervise and coordinate subcontracted asphalt paving works across a major highway infrastructure project
• Actively drive safe outcomes in undertaking all activities by ensuring that the BMD safety and cultural behaviours are applied by the team
• Ensure works are delivered safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project quality requirements.
• Contribute to and support short and medium-term planning and scheduling for your works area with respect to the overall project requirements
• Manage subcontractor performance, construction methodology, quality compliance, and daily production outcomes.
• Provide a productive team environment where high morale contributes to the overall success of the project

About you 
Great people skills and the ability to build trust is a must backed by strong communications skills. You may also:

• Have 5 years+ supervisory experience ideally within the construction and/or resources sector
• Previous general asphalt experience within main roads projects 
• Ability to work collaboratively and positively with a range of internal and external stakeholders;
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to problem solve;
• Proven communicator who can lead and positively influence those around them.
