About the role
We are seeking a Platform Lead to take business ownership of BMD’s Docketbook platform and drive its performance, governance, adoption and continuous improvement across our projects and business units.
Reporting to the Digital Portfolio Manager, you will own the platform roadmap, business configuration, improvement backlog and adoption strategy. Working closely with Digital/IT, Commercial, Procurement, Accounts Payable, Operations and the vendor, you will ensure Docketbook supports a consistent, compliant and efficient Procure-to-Pay process.
This is a highly collaborative role where you will translate operational and commercial requirements into practical system functionality, clear support pathways and measurable business outcomes.
Key responsibilities
• Act as the business platform owner for Docketbook, setting direction and priorities for governance, adoption, improvements and value delivery.
• Own and prioritise the improvement backlog based on operational impact, commercial risk, compliance, user needs and system reliability.
• Partner with site, project, commercial, procurement and finance teams to optimise digital docket workflows, supplier onboarding, approvals, exception handling and reporting.
• Coordinate releases, upgrades, configuration changes, training and support in partnership with Digital/IT and the vendor.
• Drive user adoption through practical communication, engagement and training across project-based and corporate teams.
• Monitor usage, support trends, approval cycle times, data synchronisation and exceptions to identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Define business requirements for integrations with ERP, procurement, finance, project controls and reporting platforms.
• Oversee business access requirements, user roles and approval structures in line with delegations, compliance and operational needs.
• Manage vendor service performance, support arrangements, licensing visibility and roadmap discussions.
About you
You are a commercially minded platform professional who can balance governance and process control with the practical needs of construction sites and operational teams. You build trusted relationships, simplify complex workflows and confidently lead change across diverse stakeholder groups.
You will bring a detail-oriented and data-driven approach, supported by strong problem-solving, process-mapping and critical-thinking capability.
To be successful, you will have:
• Experience in a platform lead, platform administration, accounts payable, payment processing
• Experience with construction site administration, proof-of-delivery documentation, digital docketing, supplier processes or cost management.
• Demonstrated capability in requirements gathering, prioritisation, backlog management and process improvement.
• Experience managing SaaS platforms across configuration, integration, rollout, adoption, support and continuous improvement.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence site, commercial, finance, procurement, supplier and vendor stakeholders.
• Experience developing and delivering training, adoption and support initiatives for corporate and project-based users.
• Familiarity with Docketbook or a similar construction technology platform will be highly regarded.
