As part of our growing infrastructure portfolio, BMD is delivering a landmark transport project that will play a significant role in supporting future growth and connectivity across South East Queensland. To support successful project delivery, we are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join the team.
This role will initially be based in our Brisbane project office during the planning and mobilisation phase before transitioning to a Sunshine Coast site-based position as construction activities progress. Applicants should currently reside in Brisbane or the Sunshine Coast or be willing to relocate to the Sunshine Coast.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain strong HSEQ awareness and ensure compliance across all project activities
- Coordinate and oversee construction activities in accordance with project requirements
- Monitor construction programs and drive performance against key project milestones
- Manage subcontractor and supplier engagement, including procurement, negotiation and contract administration
- Support the preparation and review of project forecasts, budgets and cost reports
- Identify and manage project risks, variations and contractual obligations
- Coordinate the preparation and review of work packs, methodologies, ITPs and project documentation
- Assist with design management and the resolution of construction-related issues
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and key project stakeholders
- Coordinate project meetings, planning activities and site interfaces
- Support financial performance through effective cost control and commercial management
- Drive productivity and construction outcomes across complex infrastructure works
About You
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience as a Project Engineer delivering infrastructure or civil construction projects
- Experience working for a principal contractor
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project planning and project controls
- Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and site-based work crews
- Sound knowledge of contract administration, cost control and commercial project delivery
- Ability to identify, manage and mitigate project risks
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- High level of organisation, planning and attention to detail
- Commitment to safety, quality and environmental outcomes
- Willingness to transition to a Sunshine Coast site-based role as project delivery progresses
