About the Role
As BMD expands its major infrastructure capability in South Australia, we are seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to join our Adelaide team. This is an opportunity to provide senior environmental leadership across complex civil infrastructure, working directly with project and construction leaders to ensure environmental obligations are understood, planned and effectively implemented. You will play a critical role in embedding environmental requirements into practical construction delivery while managing compliance, monitoring, assurance and stakeholder relationships.
Your role will include:
- Lead environmental management across major infrastructure delivery.
- Develop and implement project environmental management requirements.
- Coordinate relevant environmental approvals and permits.
- Lead environmental monitoring, inspections and audits.
- Provide practical advice to construction teams.
- Manage incidents, NCRs and corrective actions.
- Engage with clients, regulators and stakeholders.
- Lead environmental training and awareness.
- Monitor environmental risks and emerging requirements.
- Lead and develop environmental personnel where applicable.
About You
To be successful, you will bring:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Engineering or similar.
- Significant environmental experience across major infrastructure.
- Tier 1 or Tier 2 civil construction experience here in Australia.
- Strong knowledge of environmental compliance and legislation.
- Environmental management plan and assurance experience.
- Confidence engaging with construction teams, clients and regulators.
- Strong practical and technical environmental judgement.
